DYNASTY WARS



I. OVERVIEW
This is the 1st gate to the 'Phoenix Council War', Perfect World's Official National Championship in LU Live 2009. 6 areas have been designated as Dynasty War's qualification tournament legs where 6 regional representatives will come forth.

The 6 regional representatives will battle it out to determine the Dynasty Warlord for 2009 and will be one of the 4 finalists and a step closer to LU Live 2009.

II. Eligibility
  • Participants must be existing players of Perfect World
  • Each team must have 10 members
    • 6 tournament participants
    • 4 alternates (back-up)
  • All 6 character classes must be represented by the 6 initial members. The 4 backup members may select any character class they wish to include as long as that does not bring the total number of players with the same character class above 2.
  • There is a 100php worth of unused LU Top-up card registration fee per participant (Total of 1,000 php worth of unused LU Top-up card per team). Unused Top-up cards should be presented upon confirmation of application.
  • Level Up employees and their relatives up to the 2nd degree of affinity and consanguinity are disqualified from joining any stage of the Dynasty Wars including the Grand Finals - Phoenix Council Wars.

EVENT PROPER SCHEDULE
  • 10AM - 12NN : Reservation Confirmation and Event Registration
  • 12NN - 1PM : Lunch Break and Briefing
  • 1PM - 10PM : Tournament Proper

*Side Activities will run at the discretion of the Event Manager

IV. TOURNAMENT MECHANICS - REGIONALS
HOW TO JOIN
  • Pre-registration and Reservation
    • Download and Fill up the Registration-Reservation Form.
    • Send the form to pwsociety@levelupgames.ph & samhok@live.com with the following application details in your letter's body:
      • Server:
      • Clan to Represent:
      • Qualification Leg: (Specify what area and I-cafe you will be competing in)
      • Don't forget to indicate what Locations you will join by specifying it in your e-mail Subject.
      • Ex. DW-CUBAO Reservation

- Make certain that your application has been sent 5 days prior to the tournament date you have chosen.
- A character may only represent 1 clan/team at every leg. If the character has already won a slot, it may no longer join succeeding tournament legs.
- A Character and his clan may only have one entry in any tournament leg. A clan is not allowed to have more than one slot while a character may not represent more than 1 clan.
- A Character and Clan may however join as many legs as they want to as long as the character or clan has not won.
- A player or clan who won a tournament leg may no longer join other legs.

Ex. A
Team Alpha won at the Baguio Qualification Leg and wants to join the Batangas Qualification Leg. This team may no longer join because they won at the Baguio Leg they will no longer be allowed to join the Batangas Qualification round.

Ex. B
Character "Tiger" won at the Baguio Qualification Leg under the Clan Alpha and wants to join the Batangas Qualification Leg by representing Team Beta (Another Clan). This player may no longer participate even if it's under a different team because the avatar/character already won.

- Late submissions will no longer be acknowledged through e-mail but the Clan can still join the tournament by submitting their application form at the day of the event as a “waiting” list participant.
- An e-mail confirmation will be sent 3 working days after it was received.
  • Registration Confirmation
    • Bring a hard copy of the following to the registration area.
      • Reservation Confirmation E-mail
      • Reservation Form submitted
    • Present the copies at the registration area.
    • Pay Event Registration Fee (100php worth of unused Level-Up! Top up card per participant)
    • Claim your Tournament Kit (Tournament Rules, Account list and your tournament match assignment)
    • Wait for the briefing and your turn at the tournament.
  • Registration Rules and Restrictions
    • Pilots are allowed as long as the same registered username is used.
    • Maximum of 16 teams per area/region. Registration is on a first come first serve basis.
      • Make certain that your application has been sent 5 days prior the tournament date you have chosen to be able to have a sure slot at the tournament.
      • Late submissions will not be pre-registered through e-mail but the team can still join the tournament by submitting their application form at the day of the event as a “waiting” list participant. If a slot is freed up (through a no-show or withdrawal of a pre-registered team), or if the total pre-registered teams for the event is below the maximum number of teams, the waiting list teams will be admitted on a first-come first-served basis.
      • The maximum number of teams will count the actual number of teams present on the day of the event. If a participation slot is freed up (through a no-show or withdrawal of a pre-registered team), or if the total pre-registered teams for the event is below the maximum number of teams, the waiting list teams will be admitted on a first-come first-served basis.
      • The tournament committee will accept more than 16 teams during the pre registration phase, however only the first 16 teams who submitted will be given priority. All teams past the 16-team cut off will be placed on the top of the waiting list. If a participation slot is freed up (through a no-show or withdrawal of a pre-registered team), or if the total pre-registered teams for the event is below the maximum number of teams, the waiting list teams will be admitted on a first-come first-served basis.
    • A character or clan may pre-register to join as many tournament legs as they want. However, once a character or clan wins a leg they may no longer join succeeding legs, and their pre-registrations are voided.
    • On the spot tournament participants are allowed but only half of the participant's Prize package will be given.
    • Participant's Prize may only be claimed in full if the participant has pre-registered and appeared in person.
    • Characters belonging to employees of Level Up Inc., its suppliers and service providers, up to second degree of consanguinity are disqualified from taking part in the PW's D-Wars tournament proper.

LIMITATIONS
  • Limitations are applicable for all tournament phase.
  • Non-combat pets are not allowed.
  • Flying is not allowed
  • Macro is not allowed.
    • Once the referee declare time's up. Participants must stop all activity at within 5 seconds.
    • Those who are still engaged must disengage “target lock” and walk away from his opponent.
  • All extensions will be considered independent clans.
  • Potions, pills and charms are not allowed.
  • Only Amulets and Heirograms are available.

BATTLE MECHANICS
  • Qualification Phase
    • Qualified Teams must accomplish the registration mechanics.
    • Players from all servers can join.
    • Characters to be used in the tournament are pre-generated.
    • Tournament will be hosted on the Test server.
    • All matches are team vs. team (6 vs 6) PVP match.
    • 5 minute Character Set-up.
    • Match Type: Best of 3-match series - First to win 2 matches will qualify for the regional finals.
    • Match Duration: 2 minutes
    • 2 Minutes Re-supply breaks are implemented between matches.
    • Monster Sentries will be summoned before the PK zone to contain the tournament area.
    • Match-ups will be determined on the spot and will be drawn during the briefing.

·  Finals Phase
  • Finals for Dynasty Wars will be on September 12, 2009 on the Test Server.
  • Tournament will be hosted on the Test servers.
  • Characters to be used in the tournament are pre-generated.
  • All matches are team vs. team (10 vs 10) PVP match.
  • 5 minute Character Set-up.
  • Match Type:
    • Quarter Finals: Best of 3-match series; first to win 2 matches will qualify for the regional finals.
    • Finals: Best of 5-match series; First to win 3 matches will be a finalist at the Phoenix Quest Tournament.
  • Match Duration: 2 minutes
  • 2 Minutes Re-supply breaks are implemented between matches.
  • Monster Sentries will be summoned before the PK zone to contain the tournament area.
  • Match-ups will be determined on the spot and will be drawn during the briefing.

WINNING CONDITIONS
  • A point is scored if they wipe out their opponent.
  • A point is scored if they have the most surviving members.
  • Ties will result in a point to each team, unless this will result in both teams earning a total of 2 points. In this case, the team will fight a sudden death match. The first team to kill an opposing team member will win the match.

ADDITIONAL TOURNAMENT RULES
  • Fouls
    • Zoning Foul - This is defined as moving your character in to an unauthorized area or refusing to follow move orders issued by the GM in-game.
    • Skill Foul - This is defined as using skills in the tournament area before the countdown by the head marshal.
    • Striking Foul - This is defined as striking any of the GMs in game.
    • Technical Foul - This is defined as engaging in any behavior that is unsportsmanlike and includes excessive profanity or violence against property or individuals including the marshals.
    • Decorum Violations - Which include:
      • Abandoning the terminal
      • Using a cellphone cell phone in the tournament area or having the cellphone cell phone ringing or buzzing.
      • *Fouls will be counted as a participant violation that can be accumulated and will result in his disqualification from tournament. Maximum foul count: 3. Participants who commit 3 fouls will immediately be removed from the tournament arena. His team has to fight without the offending team member.
  • During a match, technical difficulties (disconnections, mouse issues, etc.) will not be acknowledged during the battle. The match will continue.
  • Trash-talking is allowed to an extent. Please avoid cussing and profanity during all stages of the tournament
  • If the contestants are not in the area within 5 minutes of the call time, the whole team will be disqualified and their opponent will be declared as the winner. In case of an emergency, a representative from the team should contact the Tournament Lead.
  • If issues arise that is not covered by the existing rules. The Tournament Lead and his team will decide on the matter. The decision is final. We highly recommend participants asking before doing anything that is not covered by the rules.
  • If the number of teams are odd, teams will draw lots determining who will be the “by” team. The “By” team will automatically win a match by default and move on to the next match.

V. PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Players must follow the rules interpretations and guidelines for play set forth by the Phoenix Quest Tournament Committee, the Tournament Director, the head judge, and other tournament officials.
  • Players are expected to behave in a respectful and sporting manner at all times.
  • Players who argue with or fail to follow the instructions of the Tournament Director, head judge or other tournament officials are subject to the appropriate penalties as the case may be.
  • Level Up and/or officials of the Phoenix Council Wars Tournament Committee reserve the right to suspend or ban a player or guild without prior notice for any reason deemed necessary.
  • The decision of the Referees, Game Masters, and tournament officials ARE FINAL.
  • Level Up has the right to change/delete portions/expound/clarify/interpret tournament rules depending on circumstances as they see fit for a fair and balanced competition environment.
