8 TEAMS will battle ONLINE to determine the top 4 participants who will battle in LU Live 2009 for the Digmaan National Champion title!

IV. LU LIVE 2009 TOURNAMENT MECHANICS
1. HOW TO JOIN
• Take part in and win any of the 3 tournaments:
o Digmaan Online Tournament
o Digmaan Regional Tournament
o Wild Card

• Once all participants for the LU Live tournament has been determined, Top 4 Participants must accomplish the following tournament Forms and send scanned document via e-mail to play-grandchase@levelupgames.ph or send it via courier to our office (11th Floor Pacific Star Bldg. Makati Ave. corner Sen. Gil Puyat Ave. Makati City, 1200)

o Waiver Form
o Parent’s Consent
o High Resolution Team Logo

*Requirements and forms must be submitted on or before September 21, 2009.

2. Tournament LIMITATIONS
• You may use any of the (currently five) characters, including any new characters that may be introduced over the course of the tournament. However, your team must not have repeating characters. Example: If your lineup includes Arme as a Mage, you may not have a second Arme character (Mage or Alchemist) in your lineup.
Arme – choose either Mage or Alchemist
Lire – choose either Archer or Crossbowman
Elesis – choose either Knight or Spearman
Ronan - choose either Magic Knight or Dragon Knight
Lass - Thief

• Must be Level 45 and above.

3. MECHANICS
• All matches will be 3 vs. 3 matches.
• Quarter Finals (Online) – Race to 3 wins
a. Participants will use their own characters with no item limitations.
b. Additional rules may be added later on.

• Semi-Finals (LU Live – Race to 3 wins) and Finals (LU Live – Race to 5 wins)
a. Participants will use system generated accounts with maximum level, limited GP/CP for buying items. (list of items will be provided soon)
b. Match will be held in an offline server with selected items available. Teams will be given enough time to buy items and set-up their characters.
c. Maps that will be used are as follows: (to be determined)
d. Additional rules may be added later on.

4. ADDITIONAL TOURNAMENT RULES
• In case of disconnection due to external force (includes network & hardware problems), the match will be stopped and then restarted. Only marshals have the authority to stop a tournament. Match halt will be announced by the tournament announcer upon instructions from the head marshal. Once the words “Hands off the Keyboard” are spoken, the match is considered paused or stopped. In the case of disconnections, we have no choice but to restart the match.
• RULES ON MATCH HALT. Matches will be stopped only on the following counts:
Error handler message, sprite errors, a Windows Error Message, Disconnected from Server message, Terminal Crash or Freezing, or BSOD (Blue Screen of Death)
• Tournament Officials’ DECISIONS ARE FINAL
• Conceding a match in any level of the whole LU Live tournament and sub tournaments will not be accepted under any grounds. Both teams must participate and complete their match.
• FOULS:
o Skill Foul – This is defined as using skills in the tournament area before permission is given by the head marshal.
o Technical Foul – This is defined as engaging in any behavior that is unsportsmanlike and includes excessive profanity or violence against property or individuals including the marshals.
o Decorum Violations – Miscellaneous violations that include:
a. Abandoning the player’s assigned terminal.
b. Using a cellphone in the tournament area. (Includes cellphones ringing or vibrating as a result of incoming calls or text messages. Please turn off your cellphones during the tournament.)

• Fouls will be counted as a participant violation that can be accumulated and will result in his disqualification from the tournament. Maximum foul count: 3. Participants who commit 3 fouls will immediately be forced to exit the tournament arena. His team has to fight without the offending team member.
• No player owned peripherals may be brought into the tournament area. Players must use the existing computer equipment with the standard default settings to play in the tournament. If there is an error or a peripheral is not working (mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc), please inform any GM or Marshal.
• Players CANNOT change Grand Chase game settings, resolution, sound, etc. Only the Control Keys are allowed to be changed.
• Level Up employees up to the 2nd degree of affinity and consanguinity are disqualified from joining any of the events leading to LU Live Tournament.
• Trash-talking is allowed to an extent. Please avoid cussing and profanity during all stages of the tournament
• Players are advised to follow all rules and regulations of the World Trade Center during the tournament
• If the contestants are not in the area within 5 minutes of the call time, the whole team will be disqualified and their opponent will be declared as the winner. In case of an emergency, a representative from the team should contact a GC Marshal. The Marshal should inform the GC Tournament Committee as soon as possible regarding the situation.
• Call time is 15 minutes before the team’s scheduled match. Any player is free to leave the waiting area anytime but it would be the team’s responsibility to attend the tournament activities which are listed in the schedule. Not being at the venue at the right schedule is grounds for disqualification
• As players enter the setting/tourney area, they should sit in front of a workstation assigned to them and wait further instructions. They are allowed to chat in-game but must strictly follow the rules.
• M2s will carry two flags to signal violation of teams. White flag is warning and Black flag is a foul. 1st offense merits a white flag while a 2nd offense merits the black flag.
• There will be a Lead M2 at the head of each bank of teams carrying a green and red flag. The Lead M2 will signal the Lead M1 marshal with the green flag when the team is ready, or red flag in the case of hardware problems.
• In case there is a clarification of rules, final call would be on the GC Head Tournament judge and/or the Tournament Director. All decisions ARE FINAL.

V. PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Players must follow the rules interpretations and guidelines for play set forth by the Grand Chase National Championship Committee, the Tournament Director, the head judge, and other tournament officials.

2. Players are expected to behave in a respectful and sporting manner at all times.

3. Players who argue with or fail to follow the instructions of the Tournament Director, head judge or other tournament officials are subject to the appropriate penalties as the case may be.

4. Level Up and/or officials of the Grand Chase National Championship Committee reserve the right to suspend or ban a player or guild without prior notice for any reason deemed necessary.

5. The decision of the Referees, Game Masters, and tournament officials ARE FINAL.

6. Level Up has the right to change/delete portions/expound/clarify/interpret tournament rules depending on circumstances as they see fit for a fair and balanced competition environment
