Team Shivans beat Team Naked 3-0 to earn the title of Philippine Champion at the RWC 2010 Philippine Finals last July 17.

Thousands of Ragnarok Online gamers flocked to the A. Venue Events Hall in Makati City to witness heart-pounding battles among todays Philippine RO greats.Team Renegades, Team Bitzbox, Team Kingdom of Justice, Team Montage, Team Naked, Team Shivans, Team Zombies and Team Plants came fire-up and hungry for the crown; each group hoping to gain momentum as early as the qualifying rounds.

Last year’s RPC Season 1 champs and RWC 1st runner-up winners Team Plants (formerly known as Team Influenza) scored 2-0 against Team Zombies and secured themselves a semis slot. Meanwhile, Team Naked reached the semis by defeating Montage 2-0 in their first round matchup.

Renegades soundly defeated Team Kingdom of Justice 2-0 in the first round to advance, while Team Shivans crushed Team BitzBox 2-1 to face the Renegades in the semi-finals.

Tension began to rise when Team Shivans beat Team Renegades 2-0. While Team Naked came out swinging, taking out the former Philippine Team Plants in a decisive 2-1 result, ensuring that a new team will be crowned champion at the end of the tournament.

And so it came down to two teams: Shivans and Naked. It was anybody’s game as both teams tried to take down key players and take control of the matches. In the end, Team Shivans won 3-0, earning them the right to claim the RWC 2010 Philippine Finals title.

Team Shivans now seek to raise the Philippine flag high in the Ragnarok World Championships 2010 in October at Jakarta, Indonesia, hoping to accomplish what no other pRO team has done – become the first Filipino RWC champs.
