Work those creative juices out LU! players; the Level Up! LIVE LU! FilmFest 2010 is now officially open! Join in and compete amongst your fellow players and Level Up! fans for the ultimate film-making glory. Read below for the official mechanics.

• Background
  • Create a short film inspired by any Level Up! Game with the theme “For Guild and Glory!”. Show off your creativity and directing style and get a chance to win cash and in-game prizes!
• Eligibility & Registration
  • The filmmaking competition is open to all Filipinos. If the participant is also a player of any Level Up!’s games, he/she can also win in-game items on his game of choice (only one game per winner).
  • Upload your videos in YouTube and fill up the application form (downloadable here) below and send to live-filmfest@levelupgames.ph.
  • Contestants will receive a confirmation e-mail from us and a registration number for tracking purposes. Kindly take note and keep this number.
  • Video entries can be uploaded in Youtube for easier retrieval, please provide the link in your registration form for us to see your video.
• Duration
  • Submission of entries shall be from September 10 to October 26 (subject to change).
  • The top 10 entries will be shown during the Level Up! Live 2010: For Guild and Glory event. Please wait for official notice on the time of the LU Live 2010 Filmfest.
• General Conditions
  • Entries should be in either live-action or animated format and should not exceed 10 minutes and centered on the theme: For Guild and Glory!
  • Contestants can base their film from any game published by Level Up! Games (Ragnarok Online, R.F. Online, Flyff, Rohan, Freestyle, Grand Chase, Crazy Kart, Hello Kitty and Perfect World) as long as the film is originally produced and edited by the participant.
  • For background effects/music, you can only use the Rok On / LIVE! The Album tracks or soundtracks and musical themes from games published by Level Up! Games as your source. Also, originally-created music and score are permitted.
  • Movie files should preferably be in .avi or .mpeg format.
  • Movie files like .avi should have a resolution of not less than 720×480.
  • Entries can be in either Filipino or English. Entries in Filipino should contain English subtitles.
  • Entries can be uploaded in file uploading sites or in YouTube but must submit a hard copy after.
  • For hard copies, entries must be saved to a CD and post mailed/hand delivered to Level Up! Live National Film Fest c/o Level Up! Inc., 11F Pacific Star Building, Makati Ave cor. Sen. Gil Puyat Ave., Makati City 1200
  • All entries must be properly labeled with the following:
    • Director/ (Complete Name, complete address & landline number, mobile phone number, and e-mail address) & account’s username and server (if any)
    • Title of Entry
  • There is no limit to the number of entries a participant can send but each entry must be submitted on a separate CD with a separate application form.
  • Entries will be shown at the Level Up! Live 2010: For Guild and Glory event at the World Trade Center, Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.
  • You can send your entry(ies) via courier service or personally submit at our Office with the proper label.
  • Judging Criteria:
    • 30% – Relevance to Theme
    • 30% – Workmanship
    • 20% – Creativity and Distinctiveness
    • 20% – Overall Impact
  • The judges will determine the winner(s) for each award category based on the criteria.
  • A winner can only win a major category once. All winners will receive a Certificate courtesy of Level Up! Games Inc.
  • Judges’ decision will be FINAL.
• Winner List
  • Winners will be posted on LU Website and The Level Up! Live website 5 days after the competition.
  • Winners will be announced on stage during the event.
• Prize(s)
  • In addition to Certificates of Participation, the winners shall also receive the following:
    • First place
      • P15,000, in-game items from game of choice
    • Second place
      • P10,000, in-game items from game of choice
    • Third place
      • P5,000, in-game items from game of choice\
    • Cash prizes will be given a month after player has provided valid details. In game items will be awarded within 30 days of the announcement.
