Read on to find out more about what happened during the Coliseum of Champions Dasmariñas held in ISLV Internet Cafe’ last September 19, 2009

Once upon a time…in a quiet side walk along UMC.

Normally, the side walks along the University Medical Center (UMC) in Dasmariñas (or Dasma to the locals) during Saturdays were..shall we say “normal” . Students enter the ISLV internet Cafe to play, do their school work, or just to pass the time browsing. They were about to have a very “intense” awakening. Rohan Style.

ISLV is the place to be..

Upon entering the cafe, you are bombarded with “Ano??? Yan lang ba?! Damage Ba yan?!” and the ever famous “ASA!!!” chants. If that wasn’t enough to cause you an ear injury..the constant “Warlock! Warlock! WARLOCK! BOOOOOM DAPA!!” battle cries will.

The Coliseum has landed..this time, in Dasmariñas

Was the cafe being broken in to? Was the local thugs causing a ruckus? Nope. The Coliseum of Champions has come to Dasma, all in its fast-paced, intense, and competivitive PVP glory. Yep…here we go again.

Today. In this very ring, you will face….

OK…so it’s not like we had a professional wrestling match there, but the competition was just as intense. 10 teams competed in main Coliseum match tree. The teams consisted of local players and guilds (Eternity of Dasma to be exact), and a host of “regulars” that already went to the last Coliseum event (you know who you guys are XD)

On to the matches:
Match 1 : NoTeam (Anarchy) vs. Damnation2 (Damnation)
Winner : NoTeam
NoTeam draws first blood by defeating the 2nd team of Damnation. This was the first match that fully utlized the “trash talk ON” rule of the Coliseum of Champs (you wanna know about that rule..sama ka sa next event XD)
Match 2 : Sabaw2x (Baragista vs. Team Rai (Eternals)
Winner : Team Rai
Sabaw2x were first timers of the tournament. To be pitted against the more experienced Team Rai was a bit too much…but that was reality of it. Nonetheless, Sabaw2x fought bravely and managed to stay alive for 3 minutes (more or less) until they were wiped out by Team Rai.

Match 3: TEXAS (Euthanasia/Maharot/EternaL) vs. Republika (Ascension)
Match Winner : TEXAS
Now this is interesting. Two new teams…both first timers. After the go signal was announced the battle was..errr..it was…uhmm…I think “slow” is the only appropriate word for it. XD
Both teams had fun poking each other with normal attacks and AOE skills. Something was missing. Yep…you guys guessed it. No FF…or to us MMORPG buffs…Focus Fire.
After a rather short lecture about FF (c/o GM Krieger) some one yelled “YOOOOON DAPA!!” Whaddya know…? Their first coordinated kill! They all grow up so fast *sniff*
Match 4 : Team Tegu (Blacklisted/Rebels) vs. Damnation (Damnation)
Winner: Damnation
Team Damnation were among the Blood Wars finalists. Tegu was composed of two guilds just wanting to play. We all know the outcome, sadly. Beginners luck does not always happen. Damnation wipes out the competition.
Match 5: RaiDestroyer (Eternal) vs. Eternity (Eternity)
Winner: Eternity
The infamous all girl team of RaiDestroyer was up against the local guild of Eternity. It was a very heated battle and the “Trash Talk ON” rule was is full swing.
“Laban mga taga Dasma!” was the battle cry. It was quickly answered by “Nasa Pilipinas lang tayo lahat!! FF LANG!!” . Oh boy.
Skill after skill was thrown. Players were killed and resurrected. Never before have the key boards of ISLV been through this abuse.
RaiDestroyer emerged as the victor. Being true gamers…every one shook hands and exchanged smiles (Yihee!) after all was said and done, they enjoyed playing with their peers and that is what matters in the end.

The Semi-finals had five teams. After a second Drawing of lots, NoTeam advances to the finals. The 2 remaining matches would determine the next two teams that will compete in the 3-way round Robin finals.

Finalizing the Finals

TEXAS vs. Damnation / Winner = Damnation
Matches were best of 2 race to 3 wins. Damnation wanted a “Blood Wars” preview match with Team Rai. So they went on very angrily in the finals.
No wait…that’s not the real reason. GM Krieger enforced a “Trash Talk Off” rule para maiba naman. In this rule…only one person can talk trash…and that is GM Krieger (Duh.)
Its was rather odd to see Damnation fight among themselves because they could direct their “rage” to the other team. It was one of those break moments during the tournament. ^_^
Team Rai vs. RaiDestroyer / Winner = Team Rai
Hmmm…this one needs no imagination. As the popular saying goes: “Alam na..” ^_^ No crushes or BFF’s here…a match is a match and some one has to lose, in this case it was RaiDestroyer’s turn.

Camera Shy? Serious at play? Stolen shot? You decide.

So the finalist were NoTeam Vs. Damnation Vs. Team Rai. To make it short here are the standings after the round robin:

NoTeam : 0 win/2 loss (3rd Placers – Lost to both Teams)

Team NoTeam….3rd Placers and good sports

Damnation: 1 win / 1 loss (2nd Placers – Lost to Team Rai)

Damnation…Death by Hades

Team Rai : 2 wins / 0 loss (Tournament Champs – Flawless victory with no losses)

The Champs – Team Rai..No question’s please, just talk to the shirt.
