It was an exhilarating experience liveblogging and livestreaming the Ragnarok Philippine Championships 2009 last Friday, August 21, at the SM North EDSA SkyDome.

Congratulations to Influenza of New Chaos, which was crowned RPC 2009 champions after defeating El Cuerpo, also of New Chaos, 3-0, in the finals. With this victory, Influenza won the right to represent the Philippines in the Ragnarok World Championship 2009, which will be held in Yokohama, Japan on November 1.

Influenza was impressive in disposing of the opposition throughout the RPC 2009 tournament. In the first round, it defeated Reunited of New Chaos, 2-0, to earn the right to face Bitzbox of Valhalla in the semifinals. Influenza defeated Bitzbox, 2-0, to book the finals appearance against El Cuerpo.

Meanwhile, El Cuerpo also swept its opponents en route to the finals, beating Finest of Valhalla, 2-0, in the first round, and then blanking Coerce (Sakray), 2-0, in the semifinals.

Bitzbox won the battle for third place by beating Coerce (Sakray), 2-0.

Bitzbox reached the semifinals by defeating Devour of Valkyrie, 2-1, in the first round, coming behind from a 0-1 deficit.

Coerce (Sakray) also fell behind, 0-1, against Coerce (New Chaos), in the first round, before winning the next two matches to reach the semifinals against Bitzbox.

Congratulations to all eight teams and their supporters, whose deafening cheers would make you think the SkyDome was hosting a UAAP game or a boxing match!
