RF Online Philippines Website Takes DigitalFilipino Web Awards 2008
RF Online Philippines, one of the premiere online games by Level Up!, won the Games Category Award in the recently held annual DigitalFilipino Web Awards 2008 last November 5 in Taste Asia, at the SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
The 2nd DigitalFilipino Web Awards aims to advocate the use of Internet and e-Commerce for business development through the identification, promotion, and highlighting of best e-Commerce practices from various websites in the Philippines. All the websites were nominated either by the public as well as by those in the eCommerce industry.
The nominated websites were reviewed and judged openly by members of the DigitalFilipino.com Club. They were judged per category for their ability to create a noticeable presence on the Internet.
DigitalFilipino.com is an eFilipino website designed to cater to the needs of Filipinos who are interested in eCommerce. It started out as a simple website used to promote an eCommerce book back in 1999 entitled: DigitalFilipino: An E-Commerce Guide for the eFilipino. It has now grown into a site that kept track of the developments in web technology and its effect on the eFilipino.
RF Community Manager, Myla Rumbaoa together with Mike Togle, a freelance designer/developer for the RF Online website (who also developed the ROSE Online website), were both invited to attend the awarding ceremonies and represent the RF Online Website in the DigitalFilipino Web Awards 2008.
After the announcement of winners for some of the other categories, Janette Toral, the owner of DigitalFilipino.com, introduced the Games Category and the criteria they used to judge the nominees. RF Online Philippines was announced as the winner for the Games Category for its ability to give the viewers a sense of gaming atmosphere, as well as allow players a chance to contribute to the contents of the website.
The website was regarded as a site that allowed viewers to feel the game through the design as the content aided the viewers to understand what the game is about. Myla Rumbaoa was also asked to give a short speech about the website.
The Official RF Online Philippines website is the 2nd Level Up! game website to win this annual recognition, with ROSE Online being the first Games Category winner back in the 1st DigitalFilipino.com Web Awards.
Jigsaw (not to be confused with the serial killer) enjoys puzzles and games and has a highly attuned mind when it comes to either genre, she also sports one mean dice roll to boot. Highly experienced with a mouse, Jigsaw is able to beat down any opponent laughing maniacally as the last shot is fired that sends the poor soul to their allotted respawn point.
